Your Session Design

{Clothing}

Your clothing plays an important part in the success of your portrait session. Here are some helpful hints:

White or pastel colors are perfect for lighter backgrounds, casual outfits in earth tones work best for outdoor photographs, and middle tones or deeper solid colors are ideal for formal portraits.

Keep it simple! Avoid large prints or patterns that distract from your face. For a slimmer look, choose long sleeve shirts and darker colors. For family portraits, choose just two colors, or for a larger family, three at the most.

Plan to wear your hair in a style that you are comfortable with. Avoid new cuts or styles. If you wear glasses, you can wear them for your portraits, but have the lenses removed. Keep your makeup natural and fresh.

A fresh shave is a must. If you have a beard or a mustache, make sure it is neatly trimmed.

This is your portrait session! Choose the location that fits you!

Indoors are nice for small children, ideal for the more traditional studio look, and of course a great way to escape cold or wet weather. We use professional studio lighting along with a variety of backdrops to coordinate with your style and clothing to help create a very unique and personalized portrait.

Senior Portrait

Outdoor portraits are always fun. We can go almost anywhere, the park by your house, downtown city streets, a rocky beach or even winter snow. Think about the look that you want for your portraits. Let them show who you are and what you love!

How long will it take? What should I expect?

Design Consultation's are always free but not required. We will meet for about 30 minutes to plan your portrait session. We will discuss clothing, location, and products you might be interested in.

Our portrait sessions can be long, up to an hour in length and we do take a lot of photographs! We will keep it at a relaxed pace and have lots of fun!

After your portrait session we will meet again, this time to show you your portraits! Plan on spending about an hour with us; we will in the studio and we do ask that everyone involved in the decision making be present. This is when you place your order, so please be prepared. Only the portraits that you order at this time are saved. These are your proofs and may be reordered at anytime. These will also be posted online for you to share with family and friends. Please remember, we do not save any portraits that you do not order.

Online proofs will be available two to four weeks from the time you place your order. Prints and canvases will be delivered in four to six weeks. Albums, jewelry, purses and other products may take longer.
